Merry found her love for rhythm cycling in the fall of 2020. She had been an athlete her entire life and knew she needed to find something that lit her up again. She was searching for a new identity outside of the volleyball court as well as facing a new challenge - a cancer diagnosis. After finding cycling, she knew this was it, but unfortunately, Covid locked her down for a while. She took it upon herself to pursue this new passion by renting a bike and beginning to practice cycling in her garage with home videos on her laptop. From there she never looked back and she knew she had what it took. She knew she needed to share her love of cycling with others and share what had helped her overcome some of the darkest points in her life. ”Being in a dark cycle room on a bike that goes nowhere has brought me farther than I ever thought it could.”

Fast forward to the winter of 2021 and Merry started her cycle instructor journey. She discovered Studio One shortly after it opened and she knew that there was something special about it. Merry had the opportunity to take Katy’s first instructor training group which opened her eyes to the possibilities that this job could have; and although teaching at Studio One wasn’t in the cards the first time around, the stars aligned right on time, and Merry ended up at the place she knew in her heart felt like home.
