I will never forget walking into the cycle room in Portsmouth for the first time. It felt like a night club and a gym at the same time - dark, thumping music, immaculate, and electric. After that first class I could barely walk, but I couldn’t stop thinking about the ride. I was hooked, and a year later I started training to become an instructor. Why did I want to become an instructor? Because my number one takeaway after 20 years as an officer in the Air Force was that becoming a resilient person is the most important thing we can do for ourselves and our families. I learned that It doesn’t matter how well you can handle the hard things when you’re at your best, it’s how you can survive the impossible things when you’re at your worst. The challenge is finding ways to train yourself to become a more resilient person - and this is exactly what I found in that cycle room.

So, why did I decide to became an instructor? Because in 2018 I made it my MISSION to always provide a killer workout while also creating an environment that will strip away the distractions of daily life (if even just for an hour) and let your mind focus on being present in the here and now. And in the process, making space to find a balance of mental, physical, social, and spiritual well being that is crucial to becoming a more resilient person.  I can’t promise it will always be easy, but I can promise endless growth, lots of bass, big drops, plenty of 2000-2010 bangers, and a LOT of sweat.
